CHUTNEY Team

JOB SKILLS 

- Customer Service Skills: Team Members must give a friendly greeting to customers and offer store promotions when possible. Work quickly and efficiently while assembling meals per customer specification while offering great customer service. 
- Food Handling: Must be able to build menu items in front of the customer efficiently while following their requests.
- Food Knowledge: Must demonstrate an understanding of the menu and be able to answer questions and explain menu items, flavors, and ingredients used.

DUTIES

- Cashiering: Operate the POS terminal for cashiering customers and basic computerized cash reconciliation during shift.
- Prep Work: Basic prep tasks in the kitchen. Finishing tasks in a timely and organized manner involves sanitizing workstations and dishwashing.
- Cleaning: All team members will be expected to clean during their shift.

REQUIREMENTS

- Experience: 1-2 years of fast casual restaurant experience
- Active: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move at restaurant speed. Team Members must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Credentials: Current Food Handler's Certification, High School Diploma

CHUTNEY Tandoori Cook

JOB SKILLS

- Kitchen: Tandoori Cooks must have a passion for food, spices, and fresh ingredients. Previous experience cooking with Tandoori Ovens not required, but must be eager to master the new cooking style in a fast paced environment. Basic knife skills and meat fabrication, convection/range/induction cooking, organized prep, and clean working habits are a must.
- Food: HandCrafted Naan, Tandoori Roasted Meats, and Artisan Chutneys. This is not fast food and you will be expected to master new techniques and work with a team that is constantly innovating.
- Communication Skills: Communication is crucial in our kitchen. You will need to follow recipes, understand instruction from the management team, and talk to your fellow cooks to make sure the food is prepared according to CHUTNEY standards.
Showmanship: Prep will be completed in our back kitchen away from customers but Tandoori Cooks will also spend time skillfully preparing dozens of handcrafted Naan and skewers of Tandoori Roasted Meats directly in front of our customers in our open front Tandoori Kitchen. Candidates must be able to remain calm, composed, and positive while executing our artisan bread processes directly in front of customers.

DUTIES

- Prep Work: All team members will be expected to perform basic prep tasks in the kitchen. Finishing tasks in a timely and organized manner involves sanitizing workstations and dishwashing.
Food Safety: Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
- Organizing: Keep inventory organized in the kitchen and walk-in. All cooked and prepared items much be labeled and dated.
Cleaning: All team members will be expected to clean during their shift.

REQUIREMENTS

- Experience: 1-2 years of fast casual cook experience.
Active: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move at restaurant speed. Tandoori Cooks must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
Credentials: Current Food Handler's Certification, High School Diploma.

 

CHUTNEY Kitchen Manager

JOB SKILLS

- Communication Skills: Communicating new techniques and training the Tandoori Cook team is a must. Kitchen Manager will work directly with CHUTNEY Founders to design new operational systems and improvements constantly.

- Prep Work:
Schedule and delegate daily prep tasks to team members. All team members will be expected to perform basic prep tasks in the kitchen. Finishing tasks in a timely and organized manner involves cleaning and dishwashing. 
- Quality Control:
Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
- Food Safety:
Ensure proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points are followed. Maintain an "A" grade from local health department.
- Food Cost:
Control food cost and usage through proper product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures.
- Inventory:
Work with Team Manager to ensure that all products are ordered according to predetermined product specifications and received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant's receiving policies and procedures. 
- Maintenance:
 Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
- Cleaning: All team members will be expected to clean during their shift.

- Experience: Candidate must have a least 2 years experience managing a kitchen team in a fast casual kitchen.
- Active:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move at restaurant speed. Tandoori Cooks must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.

CHUTNEY Team Manager

- Commitment: Demonstrate flexibility and a passion for the business. The CHUTNEY brand is positioned to develop multiple units in Southern California and is looking for Management candidates that are eager to grow with the brand.
- Communication Skills: Team Manager will work directly with CHUTNEY Founders, corporate Human Resources, and Accounting Department to design new operational systems and improvements.
- Team Building: Must be self-motivated to actively recruit, interview, hire, train, motivate and lead by example.
- Hospitality: Must have a thorough understanding of both FOH and BOH operations for a fast casual restaurant and what makes the business successful.

DUTIES

- Management: Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures. 
- Scheduling: Efficiently create schedules based on the needs of the restaurant and labor cost analysis. 
- Ordering: Work with Kitchen Manager to ensure all products are ordered in adequate quantities according to inventory and forecasted demand.
- Financial: Deposit reconciliation, cash handling, bank deposits, and reviewing daily financials. Team Manager will communicate directly with corporate Accounting Department and CHUTNEY Founders.
- Food Safety: Ensure cooks are checking and maintaining proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points. Maintain an "A" grade from local health department.
- Workplace Safety: Oversee the training of kitchen personnel in safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils. Maintain MSDS procedures and other requirements according to OSHA standards.
- Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
- Staffing: Make employment and termination decisions including interviewing, coordinating with corporate Human Resources Department, evaluating and disciplining kitchen personnel along with any termination decisions. Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
